LIT is a container for ideas and projects focusing on cultivation of microbes and their transformative and metabolic possibilities, material and herbal practices.

Laboratory of Intention and Transformation: A space to work, turning ones attention to a changing shapes.

Initiated and run by Samuel Mu Koch since 2019, LIT is an experimental laboratory space. Using DIY/DIWO procedures and theatrical stagings, LIT advocates for the role of the amateur and non-specialist, facilitates entry points into scientific methods and knowledge as a tool of empowerment. Against the alienation of knowledge from the places and people it concerns, LIT is a space of learning, against product driven, capital driven, publication driven science. With origins in material research and the cultivation of microbes LIT combines topics around living systems, biopower/politics, soil based practices, medicine-making, herbalism, food reform, alchemy,  and more. LIT is a process-based long-term project, inspired by citizen-science, amateur-led research and grass roots projects.
